"I don’t consider myself as part of a specific ethnic minority,
I don’t need special treatment, and I’m not handicapped.
Maybe I was born under difficult and unfortunate circumstances, but it’s not an eternal stigma.
I know I’ll learn how to live with it. I’m just a regular girl.
I guess I am traumatized and giving and receiving love is a big problem,
but that’s a normal reaction to being rejected by your mother.
I don’t see myself as an adoptee!
I’m German, I’m Miriam, I’ve been half around the planet…I can’t define myself as an adoptee, it’s just not as…relevant.
That’s why I don’t think finding my biological mother won’t change a thing."
